Since it's summer we'll go with another nicely chilled white for our second jug wine review. Unheard of a few years ago, this Chardonnay (like many others such as Lindemans and Black Swan) from south east Australia has recently become quite popular. This wine comes from the Mildura and Riverina regions. As Chardonnays go, it is a little on the sweet side. It's silky smooth, medium-bodied and very fruity, with hints of peaches and coconut on the palate. There's very little oak and a nice straw gold color. If you like your Chardonnay on the sweet side, then give this review a 9/10.

Yellowtail goes well with the typical dishes you would pair with a good chardonnay. Seafood, chicken, salads, etc. Try it with sliced pears and bleu cheese. Wow. It's also a great little wine that you can have some fun with. Go ahead, toss a few slices of fresh peach or melon into your glass. You wouldn't do that with a $20 bottle of chard, but this is jug wine (unless you've bought it in the smaller 750ml bottle)...and it works.
Prices range from $8.49 at "Bottles & Cases" on Long Island (a GREAT buy) to $14.99 in Manhattan. Typically twelve or thirteen bucks a mag.
